What’s your sign?

Zodiac necklaces are everywhere lately and they are just TOO cute. There are so many options at varying price ranges and style! They would make a great gift idea or just a treat for yourself. Nordstrom, Kris Nations, and Vanessa Mooney have great choices. I’ve noticed them on Etsy as well. My favorite is the constellation, like this Tai Cancer pendant below (top row, middle). It is currently available at South Moon Under.

Flirty Florals

From swimwear to leggings, floral is one of 2018’s hottest trends. Nothing shouts warmer weather like a fresh floral print. Check out my top picks!

Clockwise from top left:

Abbeline kimono sleeve surplice printed jumpsuit– For all you jumpsuit fans out there, what a fabulous navy floral option! This one looks so comfy and is currently available at South Moon Under.

Aqua embroidered striped wrap top– I just picked up this top from Bloomingdale’s and it is so cute on!  The sleeves are gathered with all over stripes and rose embroidery. Best part, it’s now on sale for $29.95!

Becca in the mix one piece swimsuit– I’m a huge fan of Becca swimsuits and everyone needs a cute one piece, right? The cutouts and boho embroidery details of this one are just darling. This print is also available in a bikini as well.

Maeve floral knit pencil skirt– This skirt is adorable and can go straight from the office to date night! I always have a hard time finding skirts that aren’t super short and this one is the perfect length.

ONeill Calvin two piece swimsuit- Is it time for vacay yet? This bralette and hipster bottom duo is the sweetest pink floral print!

DYI spring garden leggings– Want to be comfy and cute while still rocking the floral trend? These leggings are super cute styled with a plain white tee and sneakers.

Sanctuary Posey Blouse– I love this romantic pink floral blouse styled with cutoff shorts or light denim or white distressed jeans. It’s currently available at Zappos!

DIY: Covering a TV Niche

My family and I moved into a new house back in late November. While I loved most everything about the new house I knew there was one thing that was going to have to be fixed right away and that was the awful TV niche above the fireplace. Initially we thought we would put our TV on the mantle to cover the hole but because of the odd size of the hole it didn’t work. I started looking on Pinterest for a cheap fix and came up with the perfect solution, shiplap! My husband and I are not DIY type of people and I was quite nervous about us messing this up. We got the shiplap from Lowe’s, watched a few “How To” videos and Viola!

I’m very happy with how it turned out. The photograph is from Pottery Barn of Big Sur, and was inspired by my obsession with HBO show “Big Little Lies”. I grabbed a few fake air plants from World Market (I can’t keep real ones alive), my lucky Buddha and now my living room feels complete!

Skinny Avocado Pizza

Skinny Avocado Pizza

It’s Super Bowl Sunday and I would enjoy nothing more than to eat massive amounts of buffalo chicken dip and pizza while watching the game. However, I started out 2018 committed to making health(ier) meal choices AND I have vacation coming up in a month and a half so I need to stay focused.

This Skinny Avocado Pizza, courtesy of Little Broken, is so yummy without all of the guilt.  I’ve made it before and it was a hit! View full recipe on the Little Broken site along with an array of mouth watering dessert options as well.

Kendra Scott Spring 2018

Calling all Kendra Scott lovers! If you haven’t seen the new spring line yet I’m here to tell you it is AMAZING. This season is all about statement earrings and there are so many beautiful and fresh new options. The Dani earrings have always been a fave of mine because the size is perfect. To my delight they have some great new colors like the blush ones below (bottom right). Check out my top picks and if you sign up as a Kendra Scott insider you can get 15% off your first purchase!

Teddy Coats

What’s not to love about this winter trend? Teddy coats are cozy, fashionable, and available in so many different colors and materials. I ordered my mauve Wishlist teddy coat (top left, below) via Shoptiques.  To my delight it came straight from a boutique in Richmond, VA called Mod & Soul. I lived in Richmond for a few years after college and I REALLY miss all of the great shopping the city offers.

Below are some of my top picks for teddy coats, check ’em out!

Winter Skin Woes

Colder months can really take a toll on your skin, leaving it quite dull and lackluster. I’ve always had really dry skin so I have to be very regimented about applying products morning and night. I’m sharing my top 7 skin products that I use to help combat my winter skin issues.

Clockwise from top left

Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate –  I’ve been using this in the morning and night and it’s like a drink for my eyes! It came in one of my 2017 FabFitFun boxes but you can find it at Ulta.

Bliss Foot Patrol – This exfoliating and softening cream has a peppermint and eucalyptus scent. I slather it on at night before bed, put a great pair of fuzzy socks on and wake up with baby soft feet. Ulta.

Deep Sea Cosmetics Hand & Body Lotion – I am a sucker for any beauty products with the words “Dead Sea” and this one does not disappoint. It has a nice fresh scent and leaves your skin silky smooth. Amazon.

ACV by dp HUE – This ACV leave-in hair treatment is the BOMB. I found it waiting in line at Ulta and decided to give it a shot. My hair is very fine and tends to get weighed down by conditioner.  I’ve been using this as an alternative after washing my hair and it leaves is super soft and shiny. Ulta.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate – I have always heard great things about Kate Somerville products but the prices are a bit out of my beauty budget. I was happy when I scored this one in my latest FabFitFun box. It’s full of enriched vitamins and contains aloe vera and honey. I’ve been using this in the shower once or twice a week and I could seriously tell a difference in my skin after the first use! Amazon.

AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream – Another DeadSea product and this is by far my new favorite! It is light and smooth with a refreshing scent. I can’t wait to try some of their other products. Amazon.

Smith’s Minted Rose LipBalm – dry, cracked lips BE GONE! I’ve been using Smith’s for a few years now and it works wonders. My 5 year old son even puts some on before bed to heal his chapped lips. Amazon.
